The Olentangy Hyatts Middle School Scrip program is a major fundraiser for the PTO.
The main portion of the Scrip program is gift cards/certificates. The PTO purchases the gift cards from area merchants at a discount and sells them to you for their face value. The discount amount varies by merchant, but ranges from 2% to 25%. Our profit comes directly from the merchant discount, not from you.
Participation in this program costs you nothing — you receive gift cards equal to your purchase amount. Participation can actually save you money!
The PTO applies two percent of your gift card purchases to offset the cost of your student’s 8th grade field trip to Washington DC. The estimated cost last year, for each student, was approximately $600 . You can reduce your student’s cost of this trip by participating in the Scrip program. From the time you begin participating, your credits accumulate through January of your student’s 8th grade school year.
The remaining profits will be used for many PTO programs. These programs benefit all of the students of Hyatts. Some of the proceeds from the Scrip program will be used to help purchase classroom technology and provide other valuable services to the students and staff.
When your prepaid order is dropped off at the school office by 1:00 p.m. on order dates, your order is processed and delivered the following Friday to your student or to you through your area contact. We will also have a Gift Card table at many events during the school year.
We will have a Gift Card table at schedule pick-up so that you may place an order. These orders will be delivered on Friday, August 24. Our first weekly order date is Friday, August 31. These orders will be filled and delivered on Friday, September 7. Additional order forms will be sent home with each delivery. You may also pick up an order form in the school office. An order form is also available on our website. Please be sure that you have a current, updated order form.
